Back in December I was commissioned by I.T. company USE I.T. to produce a bespoke wall mural for their new shop in Rishton, Blackburn. Initially when I visited they hadn’t moved into the new shop and weren’t sure the amount of wall space that would be available for the mural, or even what they wanted. All that they stipulated was that the mural should be related to what they do and feature the company brand colours.
I went away and produced several initial ideas for the shop. As ever with the creative process, ideas went back and forth until we came to an agreement on the design, placement of the mural and colours to be featured. The main purpose of the mural was to identify the company and their aims/services to people in the shop and also passing trade. With this being the key feature I decided to produce a bespoke wall mural that featured all of the services that the company offers in a creative and engaging manner. I wanted to use a range of styles and weights of typography to ensure that the viewer would want to explore the design. We also had to take into consideration that some people will be walking or driving past the shop so the details still have to be clear and the name of the company should be a focal point in the design.
Painting this bespoke wall mural took me three days and I used Liquidtex acrylic paints as they offer great opacity. I was very happy with the outcome of the mural, as was the client, and it certainly creates a great focal point through the shop window. You can see the production of the mural in the time-lapse video that I shot below.
The great thing about this style of mural is that it can be adapted to suit any business, any available space and any industry. If you’d like to commission me to paint a bespoke wall mural for your business please contact me.
