Sunderland has a rich industrial heritage and a vibrant heart and soul. In this hand-drawn Sunderland print I’ve celebrated both the history and culture of the north-east city.
Sunderland is my home city and it’s been a great honour producing this design to celebrate the rich history of the city. Many people know Sunderland as an industrial city with its roots in ship-building, the glass industry and mining. These industries are still form a huge part of the identity of Sunderland and something which Mackems are immensely proud of. In this Sunderland poster I’ve represented these elements of our industrial history but I also wanted to celebrate other great aspects of the city. The music and cultural scene in Sunderland features such bands like The Futureheads, Lake Poets and Field Music, and the new city centre MAC Quarter. The city features iconic landmarks like Penshaw Monument, the new Norther Spire Bridge, Roker Pier and Lighthouse and Wearmouth Bridge. Of course the design wouldn’t have been complete without a nod to the eternally frustrating Sunderland AFC. There’s also many more things to be found when you explore this Sunderland print.

Most items will be dispatched within 3 working days, however our A2 and A1 prints are produced off site so they can take slightly longer to dispatch, we will however keep you updated on the status of your order.
Our A4 prints are sent via Royal Mail in board-backed envelopes. The A3, A2 and A1 Prints are sent via courier in postage tubes.
We can now offer framed prints in either solid black or white wooden frames. The frames we use are made from solid wood that is sourced from a sustainable forest. The A4 frame features a stand and hanging fixings. The A3 frames feature a hang fixture on the back of the frame. We package the frames in recycled and environmentally friendly packaging.
