The design takes inspiration from the past and present Belfast, featuring iconic landmarks such as the castle, Stormont Parliament Buildings, the Botanic Gardens and Crumlin Road Gaol. As well as landmarks I’ve looked at popular local sayings and dialect, such as “Ats us nai!” and “Keep ‘er Lit!” There are famous Belfast food and drink items the Belfast Bap and Sukie Juice on the design as well as inspiration from famous Belfast musicians Van Morrison and Snow Patrol. The design features so many aspects of Belfast history and culture that it’s sure to strike a chord with anyone who has lived, worked or studied in the great city.

The original design that is featured on the Belfast Tea Towel is hand-drawn. The design is printed onto one side of a 46 x 67cm 100% Cotton tea towel, hemmed on all four sides, including hanging loop and care label. They are specially coated for pigment printing, for enhanced definition and colour fastness. The tea towels we use are made and printed in the UK.
