Sketchbook Design is proud to share our experience of working with esure over the past few months to create three bespoke murals in their offices in Manchester and Glasgow. Read on for more on our collaboration in their workspace.
Esure
Michael was asked by esure to create three bespoke murals, two in Manchester and one in Glasgow. All of the murals are in the staff breakout areas. These bespoke murals were part of a project to revamp the areas to welcome staff back to the office after working from home during COVID.. The breakout rooms themselves are full of retro arcade machines as well as a pool table and table tennis, so the murals provide a really fun and interesting backdrop to compliment the environment.
Manchester Bespoke Murals
The Manchester bespoke mural features the famous Sankeys nightclub, the two iconic football clubs Manchester United and Manchester City and even calls attention to the Manchester worker Bee symbol which reflects a city made by workers, for workers.
Glasgow Bespoke Murals
The Glasgow mural also highlights some of the city’s most famous offerings, like the River Clyde that runs through the city, the SSE Hydro, a venue that has seen many a famous face and well of course a pint glass of Tennents.
esure wanted to lose the corporate feel and provide a fun, exciting breakout room where staff can feel refreshed and relaxed. esure were clear on the design brief, the murals were to celebrate their cities, people, places and iconic landmarks. They were keen for the murals to be diverse and inclusive in nature so Michael tried to capture many different aspects of the city’s culture.
Manchester Skyline Bespoke Murals
The third mural depicts the iconic Manchester Skyline, featuring the Beetham tower and One Angel Square among many other buildings. This mural really shows off some of the best architecture that Manchester has to offer and is a colourful and contemporary welcome to the Manchester esure office.
The bold colour scheme was developed between Michael and esure and they felt that using the same colours across the three would tie them in nicely together. Especially in Manchester where the murals are different styles so the continuity in colour makes them sit well together…even though they are in different rooms.
‘It’s always a pleasure working with companies who want to improve their employee’s lifestyle and I’m very happy to be a part of it in any way, so thank you Esure for this great opportunity. I hope the staff enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.’
