Every piece tells a story. Your story.

I’m Michael Wylie, the proud founder and creative force behind Sketchbook Design in Manchester, established in 2015. My journey began with a simple aim: crafting hand-drawn typography art prints that breathe life and memories into your living spaces. My artistic style may evolve, but my commitment to the timeless tradition of handcrafting each piece remains steadfast. Every stroke, every nuance in the artwork is a testament to the beauty and uniqueness of human touch.

Each piece I create invites you to reflect, reminisce, and infuse your personal memories into the canvas of my work. My inspiration is drawn from the vibrant tapestry of life, the people, places, and the deep connection we share with our culture, music, sports, and the pulsating energy of our beloved city. My creations are not just confined to art prints. They extend to greeting cards, t-shirts, and personalised artwork celebrating life’s milestones – be it birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings. And for those looking to make a bold statement, I offer large-scale, original typography wall murals, meticulously designed and painted to transform spaces.

You’re investing in pieces infused with soul, personality, and memories, shipped worldwide with free delivery across the UK.

Why we do what we do.

We believe that the use of typography in our artwork gives the viewer the freedom to add their own thoughts and experiences to the piece. We want our art work to start a conversation, cause you to reminisce, engage you and hopefully put a smile on your face.

The style of our work does change and develop but the one constant is that all of our work will be hand-produced. We take pleasure in the idiosyncrasies of hand-made typography art, the little human touches that give artwork personality and uniqueness.
